SOME OF OUR DENTAL SERVICES AT ADVANCE DENTAL
If you feel unprovoked pain, prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold foods, or pain to biting pressure in a tooth, you may need a root canal. This service removes an inflamed or infected nerve from a tooth and fills the nerve space (the middle of the tooth) with a sealing material that will restore the root of the tooth to health, getting you out of pain and putting you on the way to fully restoring the tooth with a strong crown. And if you require a root canal that is very complex, we will refer you to an endodontist to perform the procedure.
These common restorations are indicated when there is too much decayed or missing tooth structure for a filling to do the job, or when a tooth has had a root canal and is too brittle to handle biting pressure without a strong “cap” over it. They are more expensive than a filling, but when they are indicated, it could be the difference between keeping the tooth and losing it. We use a variety of materials for crowns based on your tooth’s specific needs and we make every effort to make sure that you are happy with the final outcome.
Replacing a missing tooth that has left a gap in between two healthy teeth can be accomplished with a bridge. A Bridge is like a crown, but replaces multiple teeth, crowning the teeth on either side of a space and then making a “floating” replacement tooth that makes it look like that tooth was always there. If an implant is not an option, a bridge is the only other “fixed” (something you don’t take in and out) restoration option to fill a hole in your smile.
Less invasive than a full crown (involving less of the tooth), veneers can fix color, size, shape, and minor position deficits of your front teeth. While they are not indicated for every situation, veneers can be very natural looking and are some of the most aesthetic restorations in dentistry.
Sometimes, a tooth is non-restorable and needs to come out. In these cases, we will make every effort to make you as comfortable as possible. And for those rare extractions that we cannot perform, we will refer you to an oral surgeon to handle your issue with care.
Tooth Colored Fillings
We use various materials for fillings that match the color of your teeth. The material type will be based on your tooth’s specific needs, with a focus on both function and aesthetics.
The health of your gums and bone that support your teeth is just as important as keeping your teeth healthy themselves – just like the foundation of your house needs to be solid to support your home. Periodontal disease (the inflammation of the gums and bone around your teeth) is very common and, although it usually is not painful, can cause tooth loss. We screen all patients for periodontal disease and, if found, we offer first line treatment for periodontal disease read more…
Having sufficiently light-colored teeth gives you the confidence to smile proudly. Each person’s tooth shade (and where they would like it to be) is different for everyone. If you find yourself hesitating to smile because you are unhappy with the color of your teeth, talk to us about whitening services. Extreme changes in tooth color may require other measures, but whitening can be very effective in brightening your smile.
A partial replaces one or more teeth when you still have multiple healthy teeth remaining and implants or bridges are not an option. Custom made for each patient’s specific pattern of tooth loss, a partial can provide a cost effective way to restore chewing power and aesthetics to your smile.
For patients with no remaining teeth, a denture is commonly indicated to restore your ability to chew and smile. Whether you are in need of your first set of dentures, a new set, or you would like your existing set modified (which can be done in some cases), we can help.
